Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data PFS Mock Exams collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It applies to training.personalfinanceservices.co.uk and the "PFS Mock Exams" service (the "Service").
Who we are
PFS Mock Exams is operated by Audio.Visual.Digital ("we", "us", "our"), trading as Personal Finance Services / PFS Mock Exams.
We are the "data controller" for the personal data described below.
What we collect
- Account details — the email address and password you use to sign up. Passwords are stored securely by our authentication provider and are never visible to us in plain text.
- Purchase records — which exam(s) or bundle you've bought, so we know what to unlock for you. We do not see or store your card number, expiry date or CVC — that's handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe.
- Exam progress and statistics — which questions you've answered, whether you got them right, mock exam scores over time, and similar study progress data, so your dashboard and revision stats work and follow you between devices.
- Basic analytics — if you accept our cookie banner, anonymised/aggregated usage data via Google Analytics 4 and session behaviour via Microsoft Clarity (e.g. which pages are visited, how people move through the site). If you decline, neither loads.
We do not knowingly collect any special category data (health, religion, etc.) and the Service is not directed at children.
Why we use it (our legal basis)
- Account and purchase data: necessary to perform our contract with you — we can't give you access to something you've bought without knowing who you are and what you paid for.
- Exam statistics: necessary to provide the study/dashboard features you're using, and our legitimate interest in helping you get value from the product.
- Analytics cookies: only with your consent, given via the cookie banner. You can decline, and everything on the site still works.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the Service. They only ever receive the data they need to do their specific job:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles account sign-in.
- Stripe — processes payments. Stripe sees your card details; we never do.
- Netlify — hosts the website itself.
- Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity — analytics, only if you accept cookies.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, for any reason.
How long we keep it
We keep account, purchase and exam progress data for as long as your account exists, so your history and access keep working. If you ask us to delete your account (see below), we'll delete or anonymise this data within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep records for tax/accounting purposes (typically 6 years under UK law).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's inaccurate.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Stop using your data for a particular purpose (e.g. object to analytics).
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies/local storage to keep you logged in and remember your exam progress — these can't be switched off, as the Service wouldn't work without them. We use optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity) only if you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain, which will show the banner again.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally, e.g. if we start using a new service provider. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Significant changes will be flagged on the site.
